While I’m still wrapping up the Quick Intro to Camera Projection in Nuke article, I thought of sharing some of the useful VFX resources sites that I commonly visit whenever I’m free or stuck at something.
CGTalk
CGTalk is the forum section of CGSociety and it has a large active community that covers all aspect of computer graphics stuff.
Usually I love browsing the dedicated section such as the showcase gallery for inspiration and of course the Software Specific forums where many Q&A for major CG softwares.
There are many hidden gems lies in the forum so take your time browsing it!
fxguide
fxguide has been around since 1999 and it is a great informative site that covers the latest industry news from VFX films to video games.
The main reason why I frequent the site is the fxguide TV where you can stream/download the MP4.
Hosts such as Mike Seymour and John Montgomery speaks clear and understandable English.
They also have podcasts, written articles and not to forget their great library of tutorials which is host at their fxphd site.
Video Copilot
One of the earliest site that I learn my VFX skills is from the huge collection of video tutorials by Andrew Kramer and co!
Majority of the tutorials focuses on After Effects and narrated in a clear and humorous way.
They also have many plugins (Optical Flares, Element 3D) and stock footages (Action Essentials 2) for sale that is valuable in any VFX work.
